Intention. Cause. Results
Sep 17, 2021Ever wonder why no matter how much we try to accomplish something, it often remains unattainable? What keeps us from reaching our goals no matter how much we try?
What is the one thing you want to accomplish the most? - Have a vision in mind, a mental picture of what it would look and feel like when it's yours.
To create lasting improvements, we have to start with an intention that causes results.
Intention + Cause = Results. In other words, intention inspires the cause, which creates results.
Let me explain those three fundamental components of improvement.
What is intention? - If you are here, then you desire or, in other words, intend to change something in your life, and I'm betting that you have at least spent time thinking about it or tried to make it happen for you. Think about that one thing you want to improve the most. I want you to be selfish here. It's ok to focus on yourself here and now.
We sometimes forget to take care of ourselves or feel guilty when we do something we like. To become a better version of yourself, you must place more value on your wants and needs without guilt. I find this very common, and here is where we all begin. When we arrive at this feeling that something should be different is when evolution begins. Intention to change is where you can break the cycle of doing the same things over and over again.
So, having your intention in mind, how do you break this cycle? - In the next step, intention inspires the cause - time to take action!
Remember that intention and the cause create the result. When we establish the intention, we need to focus on the cause. The result is an outcome we experience. If you intend to grow fruit, you plant a seed and water the soil. Then watch the plant grow to produce fruit.
We often make a mistake by focusing on the result rather than the cause. We don't become wealthy by focusing on buying expensive things. Are you with me on this one?
This mistake is related to self-doubt and low self-worth based on our perception and how we believe the world wants us to be and feel. We tend to fail when we plan for a great result while subconsciously feeling that we don't deserve it.
How do we eliminate doubt and improve our self-worth to stop interfering with the cause? - Know that we do not lack self-worth because it is always there. It is just a realization of our true self-worth that we need to discover. The system to improve self-worth begins with self-observation. Practicing to observe yourself in these situations will allow you to disassociate from the false feelings and realize your true self.
How can self-observation improve your self-worth? - Through self-observation, you may find gratitude and appreciation for life. You may connect with yourself from before the world started telling you who you should be. Discover who you are and what you truly want in life. This process is individual, and what worked for me may not work for you, but either way, you will come up with your intention and inspire the cause that will bring your the results you want. Always take care of yourself first; this is how you become a better version of yourself and benefit others. Focus on the cause, and you will get the results you want. Have a vision, but focus on the system that gets you there.
How do we achieve results? - The cause creates your results, as I mentioned before. Enjoy the fruits as they come, allowing them to fuel more intention and create more cause. This constant loop of intention, cause, and results will grow exponentially and give you the life you want. If you get mixed results, it's often because:
1. You may be trying to fix the wrong problem and need to rethink; what are you attempting to improve and why?
2. The changes you introduce are too significant and need to be scaled down to make them small until you are comfortable with them daily; a good indication that you focus too much on the result rather than the cause.
To put this all into practice, begin by answering questions that apply to your situation. Determine what you intend to improve and why it matters to you. - rather than overthinking the problem, relax and observe your thoughts on this topic, and let the answers come to you. Then, ask yourself, what is the one thing you can do today to improve your situation where it matters most to you? - What will you do differently today that you can comfortably do again, maybe tomorrow?
Once you come up with these answers, start making minor improvements with your vision in mind and get ready to experience the results.
